Startup and Connection

This page covers startup failures and server-connection problems.

Symptom: App starts but key modules fail to load

Checks:

  1. Verify Main Server process is running.
  2. Verify CoatFlex service is running when required.
  3. Confirm configured host and port values.
  4. Confirm local firewall allows service ports.

Symptom: Local help page cannot open

Checks:

  1. Verify Help directory exists under installed application path.
  2. Verify installer package includes latest build-local help files.
  3. Retry from menu after restart.

Symptom: Remote login verification fails

Checks:

  1. Verify network route to remote host.
  2. Verify credentials and access policy.
  3. Verify server-side authorization state.

Recovery Actions

  1. Restart related services.
  2. Re-load configuration and retry.
  3. If still failing, collect logs and escalate.

Collect Diagnostic Logs

  1. Open Main menu > Settings.
  2. In Export Diagnostic Logs, use Open to jump to the current runtime log directory.
  3. Use Export to generate a zip package before sending evidence to support.
  4. On installed Windows systems, the default runtime log directory is %LOCALAPPDATA%\OSCLowE\log.
  5. This directory contains the OSC client logs and the CoatFlex logs started by the client.
