Filmstar

1. Filmstar​

Filmstar is a calculation engine that performs all membrane-related operations, including membrane development, membrane inversion, refractive index fitting, and homogenization adjustment. Before using these functions, users need to ensure that Filmstar has been properly installed.

2. Filmstar Server​

The Filmstar server is a bridge between this software and Filmstar, used to control the Filmstar software.

The installation of the Filmstar server is completed in the OSC installation process.

2.1. Start​

Considering that not every computer needs a Filmstar server, the Filmstar server is not started by default when starting OSC.

Startup method:

  • Main menu->Tools->Filmstar->Filmstar Server->Start
  • Settings page->Filmstar->Filmstar Server->Start

After starting, the Filmstar server will display a running process in the task manager: OSC Low-E Filmstar Server.

2.2. Stop​

If the Filmstar server is no longer needed, it can be stopped to save computer resources.

Stop method:

  • Main menu->Tools->Filmstar->Filmstar Server->Stop
  • Settings page->Filmstar->Filmstar Server->Stop

After stopping the Filmstar server, the Filmstar server process will be terminated, and the Filmstar server will no longer run.

2.3. Running Status Check​

Method to check whether the Filmstar server is running normally:

  • Settings page->Filmstar->Filmstar Server->Check

If it is running normally, the following information will be displayed:

Service-Running

If the service is not started, the following information will be displayed:

Service-Running
